About this UPSC quiz

This UPSC quiz brings together 15 exam-style questions drawn from the core areas of the Civil Services Preliminary Examination: polity, modern and ancient history, Indian geography, economy, environment and general science. Each question comes with a short explanation that adds a related fact, so a wrong answer still teaches you something you can carry into the exam hall.

The level is medium to hard. Some questions are straight recall, while others use the NOT and correct-statement formats that the GS Paper I regularly uses to separate guessers from those who really know a topic. That makes it useful both as a quick warm-up and as a way to find weak spots before you open your notes.

A good way to use it: attempt all 15 without looking anything up, note the ones you guessed, then read the answer key below and revise those topics from NCERT and the Constitution itself. If you are building a habit of UPSC daily quiz practice, return to it after a week and see whether your score holds. Our other exam pages, including SSC and IAS GK sets, give you fresh questions to rotate through.

One fact worth remembering: the Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950 because that date had been observed as Purna Swaraj Day since 1930, after the Lahore Congress session presided over by Jawaharlal Nehru.
