About this Formula 1 quiz

This F1 quiz covers 15 questions on Formula 1, from flags and points to legends, record breakers and famous circuits. It starts with warm-ups any casual viewer can answer and builds to a few genuine stumpers from the early days of the sport, so both new fans and long-time followers get a fair test.

Expect F1 trivia on the rules you see every race weekend, such as what the blue flag means and how many points a win is worth, along with history from the first championship in 1950 through Schumacher's Ferrari years to Verstappen's record-breaking first win. A few questions double as an F1 track quiz, asking about Monaco, Silverstone, Monza and India's own Buddh International Circuit, where Formula 1 raced from 2011 to 2013.

Each question has a short explanation that adds context, so the answers section works as a set of F1 quiz questions with answers you can reuse for a watch party or a quiz night. It suits teenagers and adults, and takes around four minutes. Play solo first, then share your score and see if your friends know their Fangio from their Farina.

Fun fact: the best pit crews now change all four tyres in about two seconds, faster than most people can read this sentence.
