This Olympics quiz is a round of Olympic trivia for anyone who stays up for the Games. It goes from Pierre de Coubertin's five rings and the flame lit at Olympia to Michael Phelps, Jesse Owens and Nadia Comaneci's perfect 10 and Abebe Bikila's barefoot marathon, with India's medal story running through it: the hockey bronze that ended a 41-year wait, K.D. Jadhav, Mirabai Chanu, P.V. Sindhu, Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra.
The questions start easy and get harder, ending with a few that even keen fans miss, like the scoreboard that could not show a 10, or why the Winter Games once came round after two years instead of four. Each answer has a short explanation, so a wrong guess still teaches you something.
Use it as a quiz on the Olympics for a classroom, a sports round at an office quiz, or a warm-up before the next Games. Play alone, then share your score with friends. All the Olympics quiz questions with answers are printed below the quiz for anyone hosting.
