About this Game of Thrones quiz

This Game of Thrones quiz takes you from the North to King's Landing with 15 questions on houses, swords, direwolves, dragons and the battles that left fans speechless. It covers all eight seasons of the HBO series, which ran from 2011 to 2019 across 73 episodes, plus a few questions on where it was filmed and who won awards.

The questions start easy, so new viewers can get a few right, and build towards the kind of Game of Thrones trivia questions only dedicated fans will know, like the real-world name for dragonglass or which castle doubled as Winterfell. It suits teens and adult fans, watch-party groups and anyone planning a rewatch.

Each answer has a short explanation, so the quiz doubles as a quick refresher on the story. Play it alone, or use it as a Game of Thrones quiz game with friends and see who would survive the Red Wedding. The full set of Game of Thrones trivia questions and answers sits in the answer key below the quiz.

Fun fact: Hodor actor Kristian Nairn spoke almost only one word in the whole series, yet his character's origin story is one of the show's most remembered scenes.

    • The Wheel of Time

    • Longclaw
