About this Space Exploration quiz
This space exploration quiz covers the big moments of the space age, from the first beeps from orbit and the first human in space to Moon landings, Mars missions and the latest flights to the space station. It mixes the Soviet and American space race with India's own story, from a spacecraft on a banknote to a rover on the Moon.
It suits school space clubs, science weeks, World Space Week activities and anyone who grew up watching launches. The questions lean on stories and nicknames more than dates, so you can often reason your way to an answer even if you have forgotten the exact year.
Each answer has a short explanation with one extra detail worth remembering. Space exploration moves fast, so new records keep arriving: new crews, new landers and new countries joining the list. Play once, read the notes, and see how much of the journey you can recall next time.
