About this Guess the Artist quiz

Guess the artist from a few quick clues: a hometown, a famous song, a nickname or an award. This guess the artist quiz has 15 rounds covering pop, rock, rap, reggae, classical and Indian film music, from Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift to Lata Mangeshkar, A. R. Rahman and Diljit Dosanjh. Instead of audio clips, each round gives you three facts, so you can play anywhere, even with the sound off.

The rounds start easy and get harder, so it works as a guess the artist game for a mixed group of friends, family or colleagues. Teens will spot the newer names, while older players will enjoy the legends. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so you learn a little music history along the way.

Want to use it as a music quiz guess the artist round at a party or team event? Read each clue aloud, give players ten seconds, then reveal the answer and the fun fact. Or play solo, beat your own score, and share it with friends.

A fact worth remembering: A. R. Rahman won two Oscars on the same night in 2009, for Best Original Score and Best Original Song, both for Slumdog Millionaire, and remains one of the most celebrated composers from India.
